Originally from Puebla Mexico, Monica moved to Canada in 2007 after having majored in Químico Farmacobiólogo (known as Biochemistry in North America) at Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP). Her plan was to just study English for 1 year in Vancouver, BC and then move back home to pursue her skills in natural remedies. However, shortly after having moved to Canada, she found the man who would later become her husband which of course lead her to permanent immigration.
Being a new immigrant to Canada, getting herself established was definitely an uphill challenge but she never lost site of her passion to practice her expertise with herbal medicine.
As with most immigrants, university degrees from foreign countries are not recognized in Canada. This meant that Monica had to go back to school and obtain certification if she wished to consult privately with patients. Therefore, she is currently earning her designation as a Certified Nutritional Practitioner (CNP) alongside being a Registered Nutritional Consultant Practitioner (RNCP) and Registered Orthomolecular Health Practitioner (ROHP).
Since Monica’s father founded Plantamex in 1982, she’s had a lifelong background with natural cures and remedies. One of Monica’s first experiences with natural healing was curing her own acne as a teenager through research of proper nutrition and herbal medicine.
Monica’s main priority is to help people through use of herbal medicine combined with nutrition to achieve great health in body and mind.
To compliment her consulting practice and knowledge, Monica also imports wholesome native products from Mexico which can be used in healing. Her products are all certified organic and are hand selected by Monica. They are shipped straight from the farms in Mexico to our office in Vancouver, BC. There is no middleman, processing or commecialization of her natural products.
